Zest Is The Secret Of All Beauty. There Is No Beauty That Is Attractive Without Zest

As much as I love my French Connection coat (here) I am starting to need some colour in my life and this bright jacket fits the bill perfectly

Believe it or not I can see it being a really versatile little number

Lime Tweed Oversized Biker Jacket

I'll team it with tee's, blue or black skinnies and biker boots or trainers

Black Otto Holes Tee and White Otto Holes Tee from Zadig & Voltaire, White Big Love Tee from River Island, Biker Boots from Bertie, Trainers from Topshop

And notch it up a gear with studs, boucle, black coated skinnies and ankle boots *flash of ankle compulsory*

Ellie Boucle T-Shirt from Oasis, Black Ankle Boot from Aldo, Studded Dress from Mango, Boucle Top from Oasis, Leopard Ankle Boot from Aldo

How are you brightening up these dull days at the moment?

In Essence, I'm A Sophisticated Cotton Picker

The never ending quest for the perfect long sleeve tee may just have, er well, ended for me yayyy

I was actually on the hunt for another trusty old breton stripe but got distracted by Gap's brave and bold offering; The Essential...

And I must agree, that never a truer word has been spoken. These tee's are perfection personified for me. The neckline is spot on, not too high to strangulate and not too low to be worrying about a pasty decolletage. And the soft, lightweight pima cotton isn't too thin, although the white is a little on the see through side *no surprise there then*

There are five colours to choose from; black, white, neon pink, grey and navy. And at £9.95 each I got four of the colours. One point worth mentioning, I found that they do come up a little roomy, not that downsizing is a problem for us girls right? ;) I am a UK 8-10 and found the XS was spot on for me, fitted but not clingy

Here's hoping they wash up well *don't shrink/stretch*

Today I've layered the grey over the white and worn them with spotty skinnies and ankle boots

Watch from Zadig & Voltaire, Moto Pinspot Leigh Jeans from Topshop, Jess Bis Boots from Ash

Have you found your perfect tee?

Who Is Like God

So apparently that's what my name means. Yup, I can already hear those who know me saying really? :)))

And the relevance of all this what-does-a-name-mean stuff? Well, thanks to the lovely Anneli (here) I have finally found an initial necklace that doesn't look cheap nor tacky

Love the personal message

It's from Etsy.com and is by Desi F of Bijoux Design (here)

The necklace is handmade in 14k goldfilled. The chain is 17" long with a 13mm diameter fixed disc, so no irritating sliding out of view problems going on here. Your initial can be stamped in either 3mm or 6mm, I opted for the 3mm size

It took just over a week to arrive, from the States and cost £27.69 *knowing my luck I probably got the $ on a bad day!*

Anyways, I am super happy with my little necklace :)

Hope you all had a good weekend?

Cream Doesn't Rise To The Top, It Works It's Way Up

Not the most practical colour, considering I'm a clumsy clut *step away from the red wine Michelle* but I really think this coat is going to inject some new life into my current wardrobe

Combination Jacket With Zips from Zara

Have you got a piece that's totally impractical but you love anyway?

Love Is Not Just Looking At Each Other, It's Looking In The Same Direction

Me and the boyf celebrated our first Valentine's day together this year

We decided to stay in, cook a meal, sip champagne cocktails and indulge in yummy cupcakes

Valentine's Cupcakes from Buttercup Cake Shop

My boyfriend surprised me with some tickets to see Billy Elliot on Saturday evening *just love him* but being a theatre novice I wasn't sure what to wear, so I opted for comfort as we had a bit of walking to do and I'm just not organised enough to carry a pair of flats

Top from Whistles *I had this layered over a white tee*,  Necklace from Stella and Dot, Watch from Zadig And Voltaire, Trousers from Next, Jacket from Muubaa, Scarf from Erfurt, Trainers from Topshop

These jersey hareem trousers were an impulse purchase, with my theatre trip in mind. As soon as I saw them I thought they were just what I was looking for; smart but not stuffy and with the same comfort factor as my favourite joggers :)

At the moment I'm wearing them with my hi-tops but come summer I'll wear them with flats. I've also got them in charcoal grey but they come in various prints, I've got my eye on this pair

Anyways, back to the show. It was absolutely fantastic and I must confess, I might just have been bitten by the theatre bug...

Have you seen any good shows recently?

It Ain't The Clothes That Make The Cowgirl, It's Attitude And Heart

Fringing. Check. Studs. Check. Bargain. Check

Tan Fringed Sandals from New Look

Black Fringed Sandals from New Look

These sandals are pure perfection for me. I just know that I am going to wear them to death in the summer *praying for good weather* so I bought them in both colours!

Please tell me you buy something you like in twos?!

Twilight Drops Her Curtain Down, And Pins It With A Star

I have finally got some blinds for my spare room

It's not been an easy task, finding a ready made pair of roman blinds that a) don't cost as much as made to measure *kinda defeats the purpose*, b) fit *I'm an expert at inside versus outside recess now* and c) I actually like *god forbid*

Stripe Roman Blinds from John Lewis

I am partial to a bit of grey which is apparent as it's the staple colour throughout my flat. I think these blinds are the right balance between modern and timeless so hopefully I won't have to go blind shopping for a long time!

Sometimes I Wake Up And Think I Should Start Wearing A Beret, But I Don't Do It

A quick outfit of the day post

Top from Whistles, Skirt from Warehouse, Watch from Toywatch, Boots from Bertie
I should have worn a cute ballerina pump to complete my parisian look *a beret would have been a smidgen OTT* but I decided to toughen it up with my trusty biker boots instead. Plus it's too cold for pumps brrr. I'm hoping I've pulled the look off but I could be mistaken for
Bonnie *and Clyde* does dancing on ice!

Hope you've all had a good day?

It Is Our Responsibilities, Not Ourselves, That We Should Take Seriously

As promised, here's some of the pics of me and the boyf clowning about at Bex's birthday party

It was such good fun, especially after a glass or two of vino ;) I'd definitely hire one for a special occasion

Have you had a go in one of these photo booths?

London, Thou Art The Flower Of Cities All

Having studied art and design in my college years, and with walls that I am now free to adorn to my heart's content, I have found myself in the local art shop admiring these London illustrations by Susie Brooks. I really like the simplicity of her lines and use of colour

Now where to hang them?

Fragrance, Like Fashion, Is Meant To Express A Strong Personal Style

It's strange, there are perfumes that I thought I would always love *Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb to be precise* but recently I've had my head nose turned

Now just so you know, I'm no perfume expert so I won't be waffling on about base notes, top notes or any other kind of notes. I'll just do my best to describe them with the first word that comes to mind when I smell them, technical eh?

I wear Elie Saab in the day time and I have re-purchased several times now. It's light but not sweet, fruity or floraley. It's more powdery which mutes it down, perfect for me

Elie Saab Eau De Parfum

Comme De Garcons Sequoia is an unusual scent, it's quite heavy and I can only describe it as peppery and woody. I love it because I've never smelt anything quite like it before. I usually wear this on a night out or when I want something with staying power

Comme De Garcon Series 2 Red Sequoia Eau De Toilette

Apparently YSL's NU is based on one of Tom Ford's fragrances from his days at YSL, makes sense, I used to love Black Orchid. I'm wearing this in the evening but it's light enough for day as it's not as heavy or woody as Black Orchid

YSL Heritage Collection NU Eau De Parfum

Cartier's Baise Vole is on my wish list *hint hint* it is the lightest I go on the fragrance front, but not fruity or too floraley. It's going to be my go to summer scent, for day or night

Cartier Baiser Vole Eau De Parfum
What's your fave fragrance at the moment?

40 Is Only 18 Years Old With 22 Years Of Experience

This weekend we went to my friend, Bex, 40th birthday party. I haven't seen her or the girls for nearly 10 years so it was really lovely to catch up with them all

There was one of those fun photo booths where you can dress up in goofy glasses and crazy wigs and pose away - watch out for some pics coming soon ;)

My new Topshop shoes (here) had their second outing, a good sign that I'm onto a winner considering I've only had them four days :)

Boucle Stripe Dress from Oasis

Hope you all had a great weekend?

Everything Happens For A Reason, But Sometimes That Reason Is That You're Stupid And Make Bad Decisions

I first spotted these Topshop shoes on the gorgeous Caroline Flack

Shout Thru Sole Demi Platforms

But when I tried them on, my legs resembled that of a pair of golf clubs. Not a good look, I said to myself, so I walked on by. In hindsight, big mistake. I soon realised that I could have gotten over that, but unfortunately I didn't come to that conclusion until they were out of stock :( So I resigned myself to endless hours of fruitless ebay stalking

Then I spotted these on Topshop's website. They're not as chunky, granted, but there is definitely less golf club foot going on. Oh and they are way easier to walk in, which is always a bonus!

Sacha Wooden Platform Courts

They had their first outing last night, drinks with a girl friend. I wore them with a lace top, leggings and a Zara blazer

Lace Top from H&M
I love this lace top, the bands of thicker lace sit in a strategic manner meaning you keep your modesty in tact without having to wear the added bulkiness of a cami top underneath

Panelled Matt Wet Look Leggings From Topshop
How's your weekend so far?

I Drink To The General Joy Of The Whole Table

My flat is on the top floor so the views are great, especially from my kitchen window where I can see the Cathedral.  So I decided to make a more permanent perching area, somewhere I can sit and eat my breakfast and watch the world go by below

I really love the industrial look a la Xavier Pauchard Tolix, but unfortunately my budget doesn't quite stretch so I opted for a reasonable dupe

Square Metal Stool from Very

Finding a table wasn't as easy. It had to fit into a specific area and I wanted it to be wood to contrast with the metal stools. Bingo! Good old Ikea came up trumps...

Bjorkudden Bar Table from Ikea
Me and the boyf assembled the table last night and it's perfect

p.s. I love entertaining, but I prefer a more informal approach at home. In my lounge I have a table and two benches, think old school dinner halls. The benches seat up to four people but quite often I need to accommodate six so I also picked up two of the metal chairs to pop on each end of the table as and when I needed

Metal Chair from Very

I think it all works well together, without being too matchy matchy

Hope you have a great weekend x
