So Far, This Is The Oldest I've Ever Been

It was my birthday last Thursday and I've had such an amazing few days...

The lovely boyfriend whisked me off to The Crazy Bear in Stadhampton (here)

Doesn't look so crazy from the outside right? Wrong!

Loved the double-decker reception bus

This gnarly old fella greeted us

After checking in we went to the cosy little bar for a glass of birthday bubbly and that's when...

(drum roll)

My boyfriend proposed to me

I can't begin to explain how happy that moment has made me, I am currently residing on cloud nine. It was a very special and perfect proposal. And after some happy tears and some excited phone calls to our families, we managed to compose ourselves enough to get ready for dinner

Unbeknown to me, my boyfriend fiance had also arranged an upgrade (the boy is so damn good)

Chesterfield chairs

Chopped logs (love stating the obvious)

Huge old jukebox (and again!)

Bedroom ceiling (of course)

We had a quick cocktail in the bar and then onto dinner in the Thai restaurant. The food was very good, but our eyes were too big for our tummies and the portions were very generous. After our meal we had one last celebratory cocktail in the bar, the perfect finish to an absolutely perfect day :)))

Yummy Thai bellinis

Everyone needs an elephant ice bucket in their lives

After a leisurely breakfast the next day we wandered up to the farm shop and picked up some tasty treats to take home, before returning for afternoon tea

White leather

Chandaliers

And wine bottles on the ceiling (empty I might add)

Sadly we had to leave but we were excited to get home and celebrate with our families

To top it all off, I got some lovely birthday presents. I got Ortigia Sicilia Finco d'India perfume (here) from the Mr and lots of John Lewis vouchers (going towards the furniture fund!) from my family and my fiance's parents

Big hugs and kisses to my fiance, our families and friends for making my birthday and our engagement so very special

Isn't Elegance Forgetting What One Is Wearing?

I bought these shoes from Zara on Friday and they had their first outing on Saturday evening (a sure fire sign that I'm onto a winner)

High Heel Vamp Shoe With Ankle Strap from Zara

A simple pair of heels, but for some subtle features that make them stand out to me

The cut across the foot gives a tiny glimpse of toe cleavage, whilst the the thin strap emphasizes a delicate ankle

And that's why these heels are aptly described as; high heel vamp shoe with ankle strap

I wore them with a pair of black skinnies cut just above the ankle but they are so versatile, they are going to work with skirts, dresses and even tailored shorts. Happy days :)

Hope you all had a good weekend?

Better Keep Yourself Clean And Bright; You Are The Window Through Which You Must See The World

I do love a beauty product but I'm no expert, and I have to confess that they come (a close) second to clothes (and shoes)

I usually stick with what I know (Dermalogica) and be done with but recently I've dabbled with some new brands and this one, I think, is worth mentioning

Dr Jart

After reading Vivianna's posts (here) about the Dr Jart BB cream I made a mental note to buy the Regenerating formula as soon as I've used up my Stila Stay All Day 10-In-1 HD Beauty Balm (what a mouthful, and btw it isn't much to write home about either)

Anyways, I had run out of cleanser so I decided to see what Dr Jart had to offer...

V7 Cleansing Foam
A creamy foam cleanser that won't dry your skin out
This luxurious foam removes dead skin cells and debris that can dull the complexion
Easy to rinse off
+ Rehydrates environmentally damaged skin
+ Vitamins complex
+ Antioxidant action

Sold to the lady in the skincare aisle

I've only been using it for a week but I'm impressed already. I use the smallest amount to create a good lather and it removes every trace of make up, leaving my face (literally) squeaky clean

Have you tried any of the Dr Jart products? What do you think?
