My hallway is long and narrow and doesn't get much natural light. And whilst the original shades have served me well, they aren't really doing it for me. I just don't like being able to see the bulb through the open cage work design!

My search for new shades was proving more difficult than I'd imagined, until I came across these whilst moseying around Homebase, like you do

My boyfriend fitted them for me last night and they look right at home

Now for the spare room blinds...

Yesterday I took the birthday boy to The Grove for afternoon tea

We were shown to our own private room *we're not sure if we just got lucky or because when I booked I had said we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday* either way, we were happy bunnies :) And of course it would be rude not to take a doggy bag box home ;)

Anyways, back to the post. I know, I know, I'm wayyy behind the times but in my defense I just couldn't justify spending that amount of money on these type of shoes, until of course I found these on the high street

They have many redeeming features...

* The wedge inner sole can be removed if you'd prefer to wear them as a normal trainer. However they are just as comfortable with the wedge inner and if you're having a fat day, and only height will help, then the wedge inner sole is the way to go

* They have a fur lining so they're going to keep my tootsies toastie

* They're understated, no bright stripes, no bling, just plain perfect black

* They are super duper comfy

* The price!

I found myself in Matalan last week and was pleasantly surprised to find these little bargains

T-Shirt £6.00, Long Line Dip Hem Tank £12.00, Jersey Skirt £8.00

The #GEEK T-Shirt is so similar to Topshop's which cost three times as much

I struggle with the usual beach cover ups but this long line dip hem tank is perfect for throwing on over a bikini

And the striped tube skirt is going to work really well my wardrobe

So £26.00 well spent me thinks :)

I bought this kimono style jacket whilst Christmas shopping with my sister

It didn't particularly have much hanger appeal but I liked the print so I tried it on and instantly loved it. It has slightly more structure than the kimono jackets that have been knocking about of late, which suits my shape
