Sale Spree

Happy Friday!

I have succumbed to the sales, John Lewis and Zara to be precise

I couldn't wait to get into a Zara store so I decided to pick up some things that I've had my eye on, and that didn't need trying on

Quilted Messenger Bag With Pocket
I do love an oversized clutch but I thought I'd try out a little cross body bag for a change

Combined Court Shoe
I thought these heels would look fab teamed with a boyfriend jean, white tee and statement necklace (here)

Quilted Messenger With Pocket
I just loved the colour of this bag and thought it wouldn't add a pop of colour to a more muted outfit

Have you been sale shopping yet? What's your best buy?

I'm really looking forward to the weekend. We're cooking dinner for Andy's sister and brother in law tonight where I predict copious amounts of prosecco will be consumed. Tomorrow we are going to Taste of London in Hyde Park, yum. So needless to say Sunday will be spent pounding the pavements after our food fest weekend!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Atomic Tangerine

I got this fluro orange dress at the weekend to wear on our upcoming holiday

Crepe Tee Shift Dress from Topshop

It will look great with this necklace which I've been wearing recently with my red tee (here)

Shard Necklace from Topshop

I love the black zip pull detail on the back so I'll wear simple black heels to pull it altogether

Basic Sandal With Ankle Strap from Zara

Are you braving brights this summer?

Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses

Summer is definitely my favourite time of year

Sun kissed skin, pretty shoes and barbecues are the little things that make me smile but it's got to be the feel good factor that sweeps the nation and the holiday buzz that I love the most

Last year I moved into my flat so I didn't have the time, inclination or readies to go away but this summer I'm back on that jet plane. Yep, me and the Mr have booked a holiday and I'm super excited to get some quality time away with my beloved. And of course I'm already thinking about my holiday wardrobe, starting with beach attire...

Acid Mari Tote from Accessorize

This bold tote will double up as my flight/beach bag, it's roomy enough to stash all of my essentials and the colour is perfect for poolside

Kindle Cover by Diane Von Furstenberg
I do love a good book but you just can't beat a Kindle when travelling. I bought this super stylish cover for my Kindle a few years ago, love the hot pink inside

Ray Ban Cats 5000 from Sunglass Hut

I normally buy a new pair of sunglasses every year but I bought these last year and love them so  they'll be adorning my face again this summer

Bandeau Bikini from Melissa Odabash
This bikini is rather darn expensive but I have to say it is the only bikini that I really feel comfortable in, which is quite important when you're wearing next to nothing in public! It's super soft, extremely flattering and washes up like new so over the years I have stocked up on different colours, and this year I am deliberating over a yellow diamond print or a breton stripe

Dip Dye Sundress from Topshop, Fringed Kaftan from Topshop (old),
Dip Hem Tunic from Matalan, Fringed Sandals from New Look
When it comes to cover ups I don't like to over think things, these three pieces are easy to throw on and give that laid back look that I like

Paper Straw Trilby from Accessorize (old)
And I'll top it all off with a trilby for when I haven't quite nailed the coveted beach hair look

What's your top beach beauty tips?

It's A Haven For Bohemian Free Spirits

Sorry for the lack of posts peeps, we've been caught up in wedding plans, christenings and family stuff, all crazy and fun times :)

Anyways, here's a little purchase I picked up this weekend

The folklore style jackets that we're seeing everywhere at the moment are right up my street so I've been keeping an eye out for one that works for me

Mathilde Print Jacket from Monsoon

I love this one, mainly because it has three predominant colours; ivory, red and blue, this simple colour combo teams perfectly with my summer uniform of white tees and (blue) denim skinnies

I also love that the metallic embroidery detail is silver and gold

To finish my boho look...

Missouri Suede Moccasin from Topshop
And for when I'm feeling less boho, the trusty converse...

Hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend

It Is Easier To Protect Your Feet With Slippers Than Carpet The Whole Of The Earth

I'm not really a fan of the ballet pump. I think it's the obligatory bow that usually adorns said pumps that puts me off? I'm not adverse to a bow or two, just not on my toes thank you

Fortunately, I have found comfort in the "slipper"

Last year I did my usual and bought two pairs from Topshop *yep, I jumped on the vectra bandwagon*, although I am still kicking myself for not getting the leopard pair. Although come to think of it, I do remember at the time wondering if leopard *and not even ponyskin leopard I might add* and studs were just a bit OTT on one pair of little slippers for my liking

Here are the black vectra's worn yesterday with jacket from River Island (here), long sleeved t-shirt from Gap and dot jeans from Topshop (both here)

The nude vectras will be busting out very soon...

Anyways, ever since I have been keeping an eye out for a plain *ponyskin* leopard slipper and lo and behold look who came up trumps...

Ostile Ballerina from Aldo

I have conveniently ignored the fact that Aldo call them a ballerina. They're currently on sale and in a variety of colours from wardrobe staple black to indulgent spangly silver. I managed to restrain myself and just order the leopard, that's progress right? And they are winging their way to me, so watch this space...

Are you a ballet pump fan or a fellow slipper lover?

Zest Is The Secret Of All Beauty. There Is No Beauty That Is Attractive Without Zest

As much as I love my French Connection coat (here) I am starting to need some colour in my life and this bright jacket fits the bill perfectly

Believe it or not I can see it being a really versatile little number

Lime Tweed Oversized Biker Jacket

I'll team it with tee's, blue or black skinnies and biker boots or trainers

Black Otto Holes Tee and White Otto Holes Tee from Zadig & Voltaire, White Big Love Tee from River Island, Biker Boots from Bertie, Trainers from Topshop

And notch it up a gear with studs, boucle, black coated skinnies and ankle boots *flash of ankle compulsory*

Ellie Boucle T-Shirt from Oasis, Black Ankle Boot from Aldo, Studded Dress from Mango, Boucle Top from Oasis, Leopard Ankle Boot from Aldo

How are you brightening up these dull days at the moment?

In Essence, I'm A Sophisticated Cotton Picker

The never ending quest for the perfect long sleeve tee may just have, er well, ended for me yayyy

I was actually on the hunt for another trusty old breton stripe but got distracted by Gap's brave and bold offering; The Essential...

And I must agree, that never a truer word has been spoken. These tee's are perfection personified for me. The neckline is spot on, not too high to strangulate and not too low to be worrying about a pasty decolletage. And the soft, lightweight pima cotton isn't too thin, although the white is a little on the see through side *no surprise there then*

There are five colours to choose from; black, white, neon pink, grey and navy. And at £9.95 each I got four of the colours. One point worth mentioning, I found that they do come up a little roomy, not that downsizing is a problem for us girls right? ;) I am a UK 8-10 and found the XS was spot on for me, fitted but not clingy

Here's hoping they wash up well *don't shrink/stretch*

Today I've layered the grey over the white and worn them with spotty skinnies and ankle boots

Watch from Zadig & Voltaire, Moto Pinspot Leigh Jeans from Topshop, Jess Bis Boots from Ash

Have you found your perfect tee?

Love Is Not Just Looking At Each Other, It's Looking In The Same Direction

Me and the boyf celebrated our first Valentine's day together this year

We decided to stay in, cook a meal, sip champagne cocktails and indulge in yummy cupcakes

Valentine's Cupcakes from Buttercup Cake Shop

My boyfriend surprised me with some tickets to see Billy Elliot on Saturday evening *just love him* but being a theatre novice I wasn't sure what to wear, so I opted for comfort as we had a bit of walking to do and I'm just not organised enough to carry a pair of flats

Top from Whistles *I had this layered over a white tee*,  Necklace from Stella and Dot, Watch from Zadig And Voltaire, Trousers from Next, Jacket from Muubaa, Scarf from Erfurt, Trainers from Topshop

These jersey hareem trousers were an impulse purchase, with my theatre trip in mind. As soon as I saw them I thought they were just what I was looking for; smart but not stuffy and with the same comfort factor as my favourite joggers :)

At the moment I'm wearing them with my hi-tops but come summer I'll wear them with flats. I've also got them in charcoal grey but they come in various prints, I've got my eye on this pair

Anyways, back to the show. It was absolutely fantastic and I must confess, I might just have been bitten by the theatre bug...

Have you seen any good shows recently?

40 Is Only 18 Years Old With 22 Years Of Experience

This weekend we went to my friend, Bex, 40th birthday party. I haven't seen her or the girls for nearly 10 years so it was really lovely to catch up with them all

There was one of those fun photo booths where you can dress up in goofy glasses and crazy wigs and pose away - watch out for some pics coming soon ;)

My new Topshop shoes (here) had their second outing, a good sign that I'm onto a winner considering I've only had them four days :)

Boucle Stripe Dress from Oasis

Sacha Wooden Platform Courts from Topshop

Hope you all had a great weekend?

Everything Happens For A Reason, But Sometimes That Reason Is That You're Stupid And Make Bad Decisions

I first spotted these Topshop shoes on the gorgeous Caroline Flack

Shout Thru Sole Demi Platforms

But when I tried them on, my legs resembled that of a pair of golf clubs. Not a good look, I said to myself, so I walked on by. In hindsight, big mistake. I soon realised that I could have gotten over that, but unfortunately I didn't come to that conclusion until they were out of stock :( So I resigned myself to endless hours of fruitless ebay stalking

Then I spotted these on Topshop's website. They're not as chunky, granted, but there is definitely less golf club foot going on. Oh and they are way easier to walk in, which is always a bonus!

Sacha Wooden Platform Courts

They had their first outing last night, drinks with a girl friend. I wore them with a lace top, leggings and a Zara blazer

Lace Top from H&M
I love this lace top, the bands of thicker lace sit in a strategic manner meaning you keep your modesty in tact without having to wear the added bulkiness of a cami top underneath

Panelled Matt Wet Look Leggings From Topshop
How's your weekend so far?

She Wears High Heels, I Wear Sneakers

Yep, I love a Taylor Swift lyric or two ;)

Anyways, back to the post. I know, I know, I'm wayyy behind the times but in my defense I just couldn't justify spending that amount of money on these type of shoes, until of course I found these on the high street

Aerobic 2 Wedge Hi Tops from Topshop

They have many redeeming features...

* The wedge inner sole can be removed if you'd prefer to wear them as a normal trainer. However they are just as comfortable with the wedge inner and if you're having a fat day, and only height will help, then the wedge inner sole is the way to go

* They have a fur lining so they're going to keep my tootsies toastie

* They're understated, no bright stripes, no bling, just plain perfect black

* They are super duper comfy

* The price!

And this is how I'm going to wear them

Jumper from Warehouse, Watch from Zadig & Voltaire, Leggings from Topshop, Coat from French Connection, Snood from Topshop, Trainers from Topshop

Are you a fan of these trainers? How are you wearing yours?

Therefore All Seasons Will Be Sweet To Thee

I bought this dress last Autumn but I just love the fact that I can wear it all year round

Aztec Black Midi Tank Dress from Topshop

I've been wearing it with my leather jacket, black opaque tights and biker boots

But come summer I'm going to wear it with some gladiator style flats, like this

Fable Multi Buckle Sandals from Topshop

Do you have a dress that works all year round?

Four Wheels Move The Body, Two Wheels Move The Soul

For the past few years I have been searching for the perfect biker boot, until I found these bad boys

Polita Biker Boots from Bertie

I am usually a UK size 4 but I found that these came up a bit big so I went down a size and I'm glad I did because they have given a little with wear

For me they are pure perfection. They are everything I've been looking for in a biker boot. A pull on style with enough room around the leg to avoid that scrunched up ankle thing you get with skinny jeans

I have been wearing them with everything in my wardrobe, but I'm particularly enjoying wearing them like this

Cion Leather Jacket from Muubaa, Voltaire & Zadig Skull Watch from ASOS,  Midi Dress from Topshop, Erfurt Skull Scarf from The Dressing Room, Polita Biker Boots from Bertie

Have you found your perfect biker boots?
